From the Ministers Study
Here is a prayer from the Book of Common Prayer that may be helpful for us: Most loving God, whose will it is for us to give thanks in all things, to fear noghing but the loss of you and to cast our care on you who care for us: Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds from this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your son, Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and riegns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen It is very easy after Easter Sunday to turn our attention to other things. Soon graduations will occur, summer vacations need to be planned, the ongoing economic turmoil is still upsetting, and numberous other pursuits can capture our attention. But Easter isn't over, in fact the Easter season continues in the church until Pentecost Sunday, May 31. So it is important that as people who gladly celebrated Easter Sunday, we not lose sight of the Easter message and truth. The prayer I have included above seeks God's help in keeping our attention upon God's love and goodness. Perhaps you can read this short prayer daily during this month with the desire that it will help you maintain your focus on the meaning of Easter Tom
